At An-Nisa, we have earned a trusted reputation within our community by prioritising collaboration, compassion, and amplifying the voices of our members. For nearly 25 years, we have been dedicated to improving the lives of Muslim women in the UK. Our work includes providing advocacy, advice, information, mental health support, and a diverse range of charitable activities designed to create meaningful change.
An-Nisa has been instrumental in raising awareness about the unique needs of Muslim women among local authorities, community leaders, organisations, and the public. By championing cultural and faith sensitivity, we’ve actively contributed to creating more inclusive and understanding communities.

Women are central to addressing societal challenges, and we work to empower them to share their stories and provide a platform for discussions on critical topics like mental health. By raising awareness and providing platforms for dialogue, we aim to inspire change and combat inequality.
"Spending time outdoors with a group has a positive impact on my wellbeing. I suffer from anxiety and spending time outdoors has had a really positive impact."

Our work has been featured in a national good practice guide by the government, celebrating An-Nisa’s success in empowering Muslim women to play active roles in their communities and wider society.
Funded by Slough Borough Council’s Sports Development department, we initiated female-only swimming sessions and lifeguard training, which continue to benefit hundreds of women each week. Our efforts have been recognised with prestigious accolades, including the Slough Mayor’s Award for Sporting Achievement and the Fiona McTaggart Award for Community Club of the Year.
