An-Nisa was founded nearly 25 years ago in Slough by a group of women who shared a vision to make a difference in their community. What started as a simple idea among friends has grown into a trusted and award-winning charity that continues to support Muslim women and their families.
At An-Nisa, we believe in a community-driven approach to empowerment. By creating safe spaces where women can connect, stay active, and grow, we aim to create a positive ripple effect that reaches their families and the wider society. Our focus is on building a supportive environment for everyone who joins us.
Our work is guided by the belief that supporting Muslim women strengthens families and communities, helping to build a more inclusive society.

Our mission is to empower and support Muslim women by creating opportunities for personal growth, well-being, and meaningful connection. We work to encourage active participation in society, build a strong sense of community, and address the cultural, spiritual, and social needs of Muslim women. Through our initiatives, we aim to highlight and celebrate their contributions, challenge misconceptions, and advocate for their voices to be heard.
Empowerment: We provide practical tools, resources, and support to help Muslim women lead with confidence and make meaningful contributions in their communities.
Community: We create spaces for Muslim women to build lasting connections, collaborate on shared goals, and support one another through challenges and achievements.
Representation: We celebrate the diverse experiences of Muslim women and ensure their voices are included and valued in every space we operate.
Well-being: We actively address the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of Muslim women through targeted programs that promote health, resilience, and balance.
Advocacy: We challenge stereotypes and misconceptions by raising awareness of the cultural, spiritual, and social contributions of Muslim women and championing their rights.
